What is Numinous-Metanoia?

‘Numinous Metanoia‘ Sounds like a magic spell, doesn’t it? Well it’s not, a magic spell I mean. But these two words are magical–the main reason I decided to use these as the title of my blog.

Numinous (adj.) Describing an experience that makes you fearful yet fascinated, awed yet attracted–the powerful, personal feeling of being overwhelmed and inspired

Metanoia (n.) The journey of changing one’s mind, heart, self, or way of life

Which experience can be considered numinous? What can be considered a metanoia?

Imagine yourself curling up in your bed, surrounded by a bunch of soft pillows and a warm blanket. A soft, soothing music plays in the background as you slowly extract the new book you bought today from the bookstore out of a bag. You admire the cover art, the large font dotting it and run your fingers down its spine. You tentatively turn through the crisp pages of the sweet smelling novel and lose yourself in it.

Reading my friends, is an experience that can be considered numinous. Reading is a metanoia. Reading inspires us, awakens us, takes us into a brand new journey with every flip of a page. It makes us go through a range of indescribable emotions.

Reading is beautiful. It’s magical.

And in this blog of mine I plan to jot down the numinous experience I had when I read a book. I’m going to describe the metanoia I undergo with every turn of the page.

These aren’t just book reviews, these are the records of the life-changing, beautiful, magical experiences I went through.
